I’m a painter who swears by the feel of oil paint and the hands-on magic of old-school techniques. In the age of tech wizardry, there’s something timeless about the charm of traditional analog paintings. This is why I will always adore the analog arts. Picture this: the thick, minty strokes of oil paint on canvas, the satisfying mix of colors on a palette, and a brush massaging pigment into a weaved surface.
It’s a conversation, sometimes a fight between the artist and the materials. The physicality of the process, the unpredictable beauty that unfolds (the happy little accidents Bob kept talking about).

Algorithms can mimic the look of an oil painting, but they can’t capture the connection between an artist’s hand and the moment of their creation. The act of crafting something with your own hands, feeling the resistance of the brush, and witnessing a blank canvas becoming an imprint of yourself frozen in time until the day the canvas rots away.

analogue paintings

Analog paintings are like diaries of the soul, reflecting an individual’s thoughts and emotions in a way that goes beyond just looking good. The imperfections and quirks in analog art aren’t flaws; they’re proof of the artist’s humanity, adding depth and character to each piece. In a world obsessed with the artificial, the realness and authenticity of people, of analog techniques stand out and increase in admirability and value. My craft starts with artificial intelligence, I become the conductor of the collective memory of the internet and compose my own scapes and creatures. Images that entered my mind through real life impressions just as well as mindless scrolling through a never ending sream of images shape my vision for the canvas.

human filter

The brush in my hand makes me a human filter, instead of making a photo look like an oilpainting, I convert a digital composition into a piece of art.
